About Me
One lesson I've picked up from contributing to open-source projects is that good software starts with understanding real-world problems. Before building dashboards, mapping tools, or community applications, I like collecting examples of how people organize information and present complex topics in a clear way. Even websites outside the civic-tech space can offer useful ideas for navigation, information architecture, and user experience. Recently I came across https://www.purvanorthernlight.info/ while looking at how residential projects organize maps, images, and location details. It was an interesting example of presenting a large amount of information without overwhelming the user. I think borrowing good UX patterns from different industries is worthwhile because effective design principles often translate well into public-interest applications, making them easier for communities to understand and use.
